Newark is alive with creativity, and it is time we document it. Newark Renaissance: A Living Archive is a free community activation dedicated to building a public archive of Newark's people, moments, and culture in real time. Bring your photos, your flyers, your memories.
Our Community Memory Lab will digitize your submissions on-site and add them to a growing public archive housed at the Newark Public Library.

Every summer, Newark shows out with festivals, block parties, art shows, cookouts, community moments that deserve to be remembered. The Summer Scrap Up is how we do that together in a creative way.
Once a year, we bring the community out for a free, all-day creative experience in the city. Think: a picnic meets an art installation meets a photo archive meets a craft session all in one place. Attendees get to scrapbook and collage using real images from our summer, explore Memory Lane (a community photo installation built from submissions across Newark), and add their own story to a growing living archive of the city we love.

Crafty Girls Night is The Scrap Up's recurring event series celebrating women and creativity. Each edition features a different craft, a creative partner or women-owned brand, and a room full of people ready to make something together. Come as you are, leave with something you made and people you want to see again.
